For most of my professional life I worked for the State and local government in various departments and divisions.
As public servants, we are taught not only to inspect and investigate but encouraged to research issues and find the best solutions in all situations. To do my job effectively and according to the law/written policy I had to listen to people and find a way to connect with them.
From my early career as a social worker at HRS/DCF, I worked on programs with stakeholders. That meant working with families in difficult situations; law enforcement; private sector providers; the Guardian Ad Litem Program, and Judges overseeing the cases.
I also worked at the Department of Business and Professional Regulations as an investigator in the Real Estate Division, and later as a health inspector for the Division of Hotels and Restaurants.
For the last two years, I have been working as a Municipal Fire Inspector. In my current role, I enforce fire and building codes.
I have participated in various pre-application and developmental review committee meetings that are organized by the Planning and Zoning Department.
I see myself as your Representative, who uses a holistic approach to address challenges.
